The 21st Century CIL - A Colloquium on the Future of Independent Living

This is the information page for those who participated in the Colloquium on the Future of Independent Living. The colloquium was held on November 8 and 9, 2011, in Dallas, Texas.

Participants Encouraged to Revise and Improve Material on these Pages

Edit as you see fit. ILRU's wiki platform has been created to facilitate group work on projects such as the Colloquium.

  • Please note that all contributions to this colloquium wiki may be edited, altered, or removed by other contributors.
  • If you do not want your writing to be edited mercilessly, then do not submit it here!
  • Start by creating an account. Use the Log in / create account link near the top of the page.
  • Select a user name similar to your real name. Because wiki pages are so easily edited, they are somewhat vulnerable to spam, so if we find changes made by someone whose user name isn't identifiable as a Colloquium participant, we may need to remove those changes.
  • You may edit pages directly or add comments. Click on the Edit button to begin.
  • Be sure to save your changes by clicking on the Save Your Changes link.

Recommendations for Key Initiatives

Colloquium participants proposed initiatives in key areas. Those areas are listed below with links to drafts of participant proposals. Participants recorded recommendations on flipcharts at the colloquium. ILRU has transcribed flipcharts onto editable wiki pages. Any participant can add to or revise what is presented on these wiki pages. Follow the links to view and edit the material.

Colloquium Background

All of the material from the pre-Colloquium Web pages is now shown in a Colloquium background section.
